Art & Design Trip to Amsterdam
One of our Art & Design School Trips
Amsterdam has a long and rich art tradition, making it the ideal destination for students of Art & Design. It was here that the great Masters of the Dutch Golden Age, Vermeer and Rembrandt pre-eminent among them, excelled with their realistic depictions of 17th-century life. It is also home to over 200 of Dutch-born Van Gogh’s masterpieces, works by the artists of the 19th-century Hague School, and pieces by the modern abstract artists such as Mondriaan.
This relaxed, pedestrian-friendly city is a great destination for groups small or large. Highlights include the excellent Rijksmuseum - recently reopened after a 10 year refurbishment project, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum of modern and contemporary art and design. Photographers will not want to miss the popular FOAM Photography Museum, and all will enjoy the many varied opportunities for photography and sketching that the city's historic centre provides.
