Operations Executive

An exciting, entry-level travel industry role working for us in Salisbury.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Assistant will be involved in all aspects of tour operations including (but not limited to):

- Researching and contracting accommodation and transport suppliers
- Answering client queries both on the telephone and by email
- Compiling tour documentation for both clients and tour managers.

What skills and experience do I need?

Experience is not necessary as training will be provided.

As the majority of our tours operate overseas, a foreign language would be useful but not vital, however, a desire to learn and the ability to travel overseas would be a distinct advantage.

What do I get?

In return, we are offering a competitive salary of £17,000 - £20,000 per year, dependent on skills and experience.

Sales & Marketing Executive

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager, the Sales & Marketing executive will be responsible for the following:

• Responding to all sales enquiries via telephone and email
• Following up on all sales enquiries to ensure customers have enough information and to keep leads warm
• Help develop new routes to market
• Help create print and digital campaigns
• Keep live database up to date
• Build rapport with customers due to high nature of repeat business
• After sales - following up with clients to make sure that they are satisfied with product and service. This includes creating and sending feedback requests on and offline
• Market research to understand how to make products appeal to consumers based on the environment and current trends
• Create email newsletters to be sent to customers
• Work with the Marketing Manager to develop new sales strategies and find new marketing avenues
• Demonstrate advanced product knowledge once full training has been provided
• Working with other departments in the development and pricing of products
• Creation of news articles for website
• Other responsibilities and office administration as required

The ideal candidate will have:

• A positive, outgoing attitude
• Excellent research and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• A willingness to learn a niche product
• A full driving license and passport as some travel may be required
• Confident and engaging telephone manner

Product Manager

The Product Manager will be responsible for researching, designing, writing and maintaining a portfolio of tours. The successful candidate will be passionate about history, have an excellent grasp of the English language, be a confident communicator and negotiator, possess a current driving licence and be willing to travel overseas. Travel industry experience and command of a foreign language would be useful.

Responsibilities

Research, write, oversee, evaluate and update new and existing tours:

• Determine commercial and practical feasibility and price accordingly
• Perform competitor analysis and market research
• Determine availability and prices of hotels and restaurants
• Liaise with existing and identify new guides - instruct as required
• Provide practical support to operations to ensure successful delivery of each tour
• Write brochure and web copy: historical background, general introduction, daily itineraries, appropriate images and quotations
• Assist marketing to identify digital marketing collateral
• Perform post tour evaluation and action appropriately
• Manage production of tour handouts
• Create and price bespoke itineraries

Other duties

• General office support as required
• Occasional travel to attend exhibitions, familiarisation trips and recces
• Opportunity to act as tour manager
Requirements
• An appreciation of archaeology, history and military history
• Confident communicator and negotiator
• Articulate with the English language
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Willing to travel overseas
• Current driving licence

What do I get?

In return, we are offering a competitive salary of £26,000 - £30,000 per year, dependent on skills and experience.
